My due date is approaching fast...actually tomorrow, January 14th! I have been feeling really well lately, taking care of myself and resting as needed. I've been having troubles sleeping, which is quite frustrating, but have been able to take naps and Søren has let me sleep in quite a few mornings! The worst part is waking up so many times at night...and not because of my bladder!!! Everytime I have to switch positions, my heavy body wakes me up and then the whole falling asleep process starts over.
This past week after our Christmas vacation has been quite relaxing for me, and quite stressful for Søren. Our annual New Years concert at the boarding school was this past Saturday, so Søren was quite busy with that. I went, just as a guest (weird!) and the students did such a great job. Both of us were quite emotional and very proud. We are glad to have made it past that day before the baby came, so that Søren could be there, so now I just have to say "BRING IT ON BABY....WE ARE READY!" We are looking forward to meeting our new son any day now.
Another fun story, last Saturday one of my friends suddenly knocked on our door. I was quite surprised to see her as she doesn't live in our town. She told me I had to find a bag to bring a few things (swimsuit, exercise clothes and something I could wear outside) and that she was taking me for a car ride. In the car she had clues as to what we were going to be doing and who was going to be there. It was all a complete surprise, and I was super excited....and a bit nervous about what I needed the exercise and outdoor clothes for!! We ended up in Esbjerg, where I found out I really only needed the bathing clothes, and we headed into the wellness center. Two of our other friends met us there and the four of us had a couple of wonderful and relaxing hours in the hot tubs, foot baths, saunas, etc. Afterwards we went out for dinner and dessert. It was such a lovely day, and I was so touched that they had planned this surprise for me. They said it was my baby shower this time!! It was wonderful to be out with the girls! Thanks to Jette, Kirsten and Therese!
