English (AI translated):
So, we have finally finished celebrating Silas' birthday—in several rounds! The festivities actually started the week before the big day. Eileen and Dave made the trip up for the weekend before, and on Saturday, they treated us to dinner to celebrate both Silas and Johnny (who turned 40 just three days before Silas). We had a wonderful time chatting, laughing, and eating a lot of delicious food at the restaurant "Champps."
On Wednesday (Johnny's birthday), they were both celebrated once again. This time it was with Grandpa and Liz, and the most fitting venue just had to be "Topgolf." We spent 2½ hours swinging the clubs and competing against each other in all kinds of fun games at this modern, social driving range. The setup is a mix of golf and restaurant, so it’s hard not to get hooked on the concept. We all thoroughly enjoyed spending those fun hours together.
On Friday, Silas invited his small group from church over for pizza, ice cream, and hanging out in the yard. It was wonderful to see the young people enjoying themselves with activities like baseball, soccer, and the trampoline. It certainly helped that the weather was around 80°F with a light breeze. The boys stayed outside all evening, and it wasn’t until the sun had completely set and only a few people were left that they played a bit of darts in the basement.
Then Saturday—the actual birthday—finally arrived! Even though we felt Silas had already been celebrated quite a lot, he certainly wasn't going to miss out on being spoiled with gifts, brunch, and ice cream cake. The day started with a birthday song in bed, followed by opening presents. Shortly after, the menu featured Belgian waffles, bacon, scrambled eggs, and more. We just managed to enjoy all of that before settling onto the couch to watch the long-awaited Champions League final (soccer). During halftime, birthday wishes also arrived from Denmark via a group call. The rest of the afternoon was spent in the yard playing various games, and Grandpa also dropped by for ice cream cake. The day wrapped up with a delicious dinner at "Olive Garden" and a movie at home.
