Last week we had 4 performances with the Show Choir I am in. This year the 2 hour show was called “Hollywood Fantasy” and was about a crazy film director, with wild ideas and how the cast and crew handled the situation. There were 18 songs in the show, with lots of different styles from Michael Jackson “Bad” to Simon and Garfunkel “Sound of Silence” and lots of things in between.
I played the part of a Russian cleaning woman who was in love with the director. I had 3 solo songs (Lady Marmelade from Moulin Rouge, The Show Must Go On by Queen, and My Heart Will Go On from Titanic). I was in 17 of the 18 songs, so I had a lot of dances and song lyrics to learn…not to mention a lot of costume changes. That meant a very busy January, but as it always does, it all came together at the end and turned out to be a great show.
There were quite a few friends in to see it, and I once again was reminded how much I love to be on stage!!! Søren was amazing throughout the whole process, encouraging me, letting me sleep in, and spending lots of alone time with Silas. I am so grateful for having the opportunity to perform and am now also grateful for a nice relaxing weekend.
Here are some pictures of the show.
